"Der Vino de Paraje 2019 Valtuille Villegas stammt von einer Parzelle neben Raúl Pérez‘ Haus am Stadtrand von Valtuille, also eine Abfüllung aus einem einzigen Weinberg, die nach fünf Jahren Rückverfolgbarkeit für diese Kategorie in Frage kommen könnte. Das Grundstück hat mehr Sand und sehr alte Reben und ist eine schattige Zone. Der Wein wurde mit 100 % Volltrauben in Eichenfässern vergoren und in gebrauchten 500-Liter-Eichenfässern gereift. Er hat die Feinheit und den Duft sandiger Böden, elegant und frisch, mit sehr feinkörnigen Tanninen. 1.200 Flaschen produziert. Die Abfüllung erfolgte im Juni 2021.
Bei Castro Ventosa werden die Parzellen getrennt, um mehr Präzision zu erreichen, und es gibt einen neuen Spitzenrotwein namens La Vitoriana. Die Weine haben weniger Alkohol, weniger Reife und weniger Eichenholz und sind sauberer und fokussierter. Sie besitzen 80 bis 85 Hektar der 500 Hektar im Dorf Valtuille, kaufen also keine einzige Traube (und verkaufen auch keine). Für César Márquez, der 2018 mag, denkt, dass 2019 ernster ist und die Frische (vielleicht mit mehr Struktur) beibehält, ein vollständigeres Jahr. 2020 hatte einen wärmeren Sommer und eine frühe Ernte, und das Ergebnis war besser als erwartet. Es ist ein warmer Jahrgang, aber nicht so warm wie 2017. Ich sehe viele ähnliche Meinungen in Bierzo. Die Weißen von 2020 fühlten sich jedoch eine Stufe besser als die von 2019 ...W

"The Vino de Paraje 2019 Valtuille Villegas comes from a plot by Raúl Pérez's house in the outskirts of Valtuille, so a single-vineyard bottling that might qualify for such category after five years of traceability. The plot has more sand and very old vines and is a shadowed zone. The wine fermented with 100% full clusters in oak vats and matured in used 500-liter oak barrels. It has the finesse and perfume of the sandy soils, elegant and fresh, with very fine-grained tannins. 1,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021.
At Castro Ventosa they are separating the plots to have more precision, and they have a new top-of-the-range red called La Vitoriana. The wines have less alcohol, less ripeness and less oak, and they are cleaner and more focused. They own 80 to 85 hectares from the 500 hectares in the village of Valtuille, so they don't buy a single grape (and they don't sell any either). For César Márquez, who likes 2018, thinks 2019 is more serious, keeping the freshness (perhaps with more structure), a more complete year. 2020 had a warmer summer and saw an early harvest, and the result is better than he expected.
